FEATURE: Lamborghini Aventador J

Called a “one of a kind piece of art” by Lamborghini, the open-top Aventador has tiny windscreens and a body modified for maximum performance. Based on a similar light weight but very large carbon fiber chassis as the Aventador, it’s slightly narrower and uses aerodynamic changes on the front and rear bumper to improve down-force.

A function-over form machine (even if it is beautiful), the Aventador J, as it’s called, has no navigation or audio system. Thinner and lighter doors drop even more weight and Lamborghini has targeted a dry weight of under 3,500 lbs – not bad for a car with a 6.5-liter V12 engine. Power is rated identically to the Aventador with 700 hp on tap.

Painted in a chrome red with carbon fiber detailing, the 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels are center locking and get carbon fiber inserts to maximize cooling of the brakes.

As for that mysterious J in its name, it comes from the FIA motorsports rule book, where “Appendix J” details the specifications of the different classes of race cars. That said, while Lamborghini is calling it a race car, the Aventador J is street legal.

Want one? Too bad, this is the one and only Aventador J and it’s already been sold confirmed company CEO Stephan Winkelmann at it’s unveiling. The price? A serious $2.1 million.

2012 Bugatti Veyron GS middle East Edition

Bugatti has decided to honor one of its biggest markets with three special Veyron Grand Sport models especially for the Middle East market. These three models have been revealed at the 2011 Dubai Motor Show and come in three different colors: yellow, blue, and green. The yellow Grand Sport is priced at 1.58 million euros ($2,150,000 at the current rates), while the other two are priced at 1.74 million euro ($2,373,000 at the current rates) each.

The first Veyron Grand Sport Middle East Edition combines a bright yellow body with black carbon insertions and black-tinted wheels. The interior shares the same color combination with yellow leather seats with black stitching and a black carbon console, while the dashboard, steering wheel, and gearshift are encased in black leather with yellow stitching.

The second Grand Sport model features a two tone exterior with blue carbon framed in polished, anodized aluminum. This model is highlighted with a special set of wheels in an aluminum polished and Diamond Cut two-tone finish, aluminum insertions on the front grille, and air intakes. The interior combines tangerine leather with dark blue Indigo leather or exposed blue carbon fiber.

The third - and final - special edition Veyron Grand Sport features a newly developed green carbon fiber exterior combined with polished aluminum on the rims, rear-view mirrors, and the EB-logo. The interior also combines green and silver to seal the color combination.

FEATURE: 2010 Pagani Zonda HH

We have seen bits of the Zonda HH before and we know that it’s going to some lucky son-of-a-gun in the United States, but now we have a full view of the one-off supercar, and this guy’s dream car, from Pagani.

We have no idea who this car is for, but the person has given the details of the car to TeamSpeed. As we first thought, the HH has bits of the Zonda F and the Cinque.

The Zonda HH has the typical carbon-titanium tub and carbon ceramic brakes. Under the hood is the Cinque’s V12 producing 680 horsepower mated to a manual gearbox and a titanium exhaust system.

*Whoever this person is, they are a true sports car lover.

The exterior will be painted in Monterey Blue with yellow accenting. The design is still being worked out, but the rich man hopes to have his car by the end of the year. The only thing the car won’t have that most Zondas do is a massive rear-mounted air intake. This car should be pretty special.

UPDATE: I’ve just received more details on this spectacular one-off Zonda. First off, it was commissioned by an American by the name of David Heinemeier Hansson and his spectacular one-of-a-kind ride is ready for pickup.

A few months ago, David Heinemeier Hansson asked Pagani to build him his own Zonda, one that’s completely unique from any other of its kind on the planet. So in an effort to accommodate his wishes, Horacio Pagani and company did just that, building the one-off Zonda HH just for Mr. Hansson.

The result is a supercar that’s powered by a 7.3-liter V12 machine that produces some astounding numbers...
  • 678 horsepower
  • 780 N*m of torque/575 lb-ft. of torque
  • Top speed of: 217 mph
  • 0-60 mph/0-97 km/h: 3.4 seconds.

Now, the car is ready to meet its owner and is waiting for Mr. Hansson to pick it up at the Carugati Dealership in Geneva, Switzerland.

*Paging Mr. Hansson, you’re one-off, multi-million dollar supercar is waiting for you. Best pick it up now before something happens to it.

2010 Ferrari California by Anderson Germany

ANDERSON GERMANY is releasing a special model, which will win you over with its design and its horse power. The elite tuner from Dusseldorf has boosted the Ferrari California’s 460 HP by 55 HP and has also ensured that it makes a spectacular impression optically. The increased performance is owed to software optimization and a valve controlled stainless steel exhaust system, which can be set to three different sound modes with a remote control.
For the ultra-wide lane, special light-weight wheels 21 and 22 inches in size have been installed. The multiple-part light metal rims are coated in a carbon film and the outer rim bedding is the color of the car.

Road contact is ensured with the powerful 9x21 inch and 11.5x22 inch light-weight metal rims equipped with high-performance tires of size 255/30-21 and 315/25-22.

For a sporty street drive, ANDERSON GERMANY provides complete driving and coupled axles with a module, which is inbuilt and can be adjusted according to height. Thanks to the adjustable damper, the body can be lowered by 35mm or raised by 40mm.

With a body kit made up of a carbon-finished front spoiler lip, side skirt wings, rear diffuser, rear mud guard, motor, side ventilation and and rear spoiler lip, the Ferrari California Edition shows once again its top performance and a very individual aesthetic. A dark tint on the panes and rear lights complete the total look.
ANDERSON GERMANY offers almost limitless possibilities for individual furnishing of the interior. The carbon interior package includes air vents, radio facing, center consoles, door handles, rocker switches and steering wheel facing. Detail solutions you can only expect from a luxury sports car.

2010 Pagani Zonda RAK

Following in the footsteps of the Uno, the HH, and the 750, Pagani has once again released a special edition version of the Zonda, proving that you can’t have too many of a multimillion dollar supercar.

This new model, called the Pagani Zonda RAK, is another one-off Zonda that has been exclusively built by the boys of Pagani for a specific clientele, in this case, the Auto Salon Singen in Germany. From the looks of things, the car simply looks like a Pagani Zonda Cinque dressed up in sexy yellow paint with the car’s interior taking the color of the exterior in the form of some yellow stitching on the leather racing seats.

That being said, when you have a car that’s as limited as a Zonda, even the slightest color change warrants a completely different name altogether.

As for the specs, according to Autogespot, the Zonda RAK will come with a V12 powerhouse that produces an output of around 700 horsepower.

As for the price tag, Auto Salon Singen is selling the one-off Zonda at a sticker price of €1.849 million – that’s about $2.5 million in US currency.

Not surprisingly, a car of this stature doesn’t come cheap. And if you happen to be interested, there’s only one of this in the world so you better open up your bank account and hope that nobody’s scooped it up yet.

FEATURE: Pagani Zonda PS

We all know that you can do a lot with CA$H, especially when it comes to exclusive super cars

But once your garage is filled with models like the Koenigsegg CCX, Porsche Carrera GT, Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 and a highly modified Porsche that is now a Techart GTStreet; what is left to buy?

If you are English businessman Peter Saywell, you get a one-off Pagani. Combining the power of Germany with the style of Italy, the Pagani Zonda is already a magnificent automobile, and quite a solid investment. So to have a custom Zonda is all the more to boast about.

Saywell’s Pagani Zonda PS features unique touches like a modified exhaust, a redesigned diffuser similar to the Cinque, but unlike the the limited edition Pagani, the PS has none of the extra air vents on the wheel arches and even underwent a roof scoop delete.

This could be the Zonda that has gotten the best of both worlds.

2012 Acura NSX

After years of speculations, Honda is finally taking the first steps in offering a successor for the very prominent NSX supercar with its first concept version revealed at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The company has promised that a production version will follow in the next three years and will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Ohio.

Not only does the concept revealed in Detroit preview the future NSX supercar, it also presents the first application of Acura’s innovative new Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) system.

This system combines a unique 2 Electric Motor Drive Unit with a bilateral torque adjustable control system that allows the car to instantly generate negative or positive torque to the front wheels during cornering.

The company then throws in their next generation V-TEC 3.5-liter V6 with direct-injection and a dual clutch transmission with built-in electric motor.

"This Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system will make NSX the ultimate expression of Acura’s idea to create synergy between man and machine," said Takanobu Ito, president and CEO of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. "The NSX will make the driver one with the car to enhance dynamic driving abilities without getting in the way."

"Like the first NSX, we will again express high performance through engineering efficiency," added Ito, who led the development of Acura’s first NSX supercar.

"In this new era, even as we focus on the fun to drive spirit of the NSX, I think a supercar must respond positively to environmental responsibilities."

FEATURE: 2012 Aston Martin Virage

Built between 1989 and 2000, the Aston Martin Virage was one of the most powerful sports cars of the moment.

It was a model built as a replacement for Aston Martin’s old V8 line-up, and now the name returns once again as a sports car that combines performance with luxury, comfort, and refinement. The model is now on sale in 41 countries, in both coupe and Volante versions.

The new Virage is placed between the DBS and the DB9 and is powered by a 6.0 liter V12 engine that produces 490 HP and 420 ft. lbs. of torque.

Aston Martin CEO, Dr Ulrich Bez said: "100 years of automotive history has demonstrated that evolution delivers the best solutions in time. So it is with Virage; it is the next level of evolution in our VH architecture strategy and it does everything with the perfection that you would expect today. It is the perfect balance of opposites."

UPDATE 05/16/11: Aston Martin has released the official configurator for the new Virage model at their website. All you need to do is put your creative hats on, hop on over to the Aston website, and start working!

FEATURE: 2012 Genty Akylone

A new supercar was recently revealed Genty Automobile and it true to its boastful teasers, the car, called the Akylone, is promising a whole lot of performance capabilities.

Whether it lives up to its promise or not is still a matter of conjecture.
Genty Automobile is an independent French design company that seeks to produce high performance vehicles that go back to the basics of optimum power encased in a lightweight design. Their first offering is the Akylone, a supercar Genty is claiming to be a serious threat in the industry’s uber-competitive "supercar arms-race".

Despite being officially revealed, the Akylone appears to still be far from a finished product, which is a real bummer considering that we were expecting much more than just CAD renderings.

Nevertheless, new supercars are always worth their time on these pages, and it’s going to be very interesting how Genty follows up their official unveiling of the Akylone. Hopefully, we’ll get to see a live one up close real soon.

Updated 10/18/2011: This review has been updated with the official details, specs and images. Find out more about the Genty Akylone after the jump.

INTERIOR

Design-wise, the Akylone looks and resembles what you’d expect from a start-up supercar. It comes plush with expensive materials - carbon fiber and aluminum, among them - to go with a swooping front fascia, a steeply raked roofline, a pair of scissor doors, an enormous rear diffuser, and all the bells and whistles - like LED daytime running lights - of a concept supercar.

Meanwhile, the interior of the Akylone doesn’t appear to be finished yet, although you could make out a few elements that you’d expect to be in the final version, including the sports seats, an elaborate infotainment system, and a wide center console.

ENGINE

The Akylone is powered by a 4.8-liter V8 engine that produces in excess of 1,000 horsepower and 940 lb/ft of torque while being connected to a seven-speed sequential transmission.

The numbers translate to the Akylone hitting
  • 0-62 mph in just 2.7 seconds,
  • 0-124 mph in 7.2 seconds,
  • 0-183 mph in 14 seconds, a time that is 0.6 seconds faster than the current king of production cars, the Veyron Super Sport.

As for top speed? Genty is looking at 220 mph, which is far from the Veyron Super Sport’s 267-mph top speed, but still worth its weight in supercar figures.
 PRICING

No word yet on how much an Akylone will cost. Genty is targeting around 15 models being built in its factory in France with one set to be displayed at the Paris Motor Show next year.

2010 Lamborghini Gallardo Balboni Edition by Anderson germany

Last year, Lamborghini and Valentino Balboni decided to get together to bring forth the special, limited edition Lamborghini Gallardo Balboni. This creation put together a legendary supercar with a legendary test driver,  so it should go unsaid that this vehicle wouldn’t need any changes     made to it, right? Wrong.

German tuner, Anderson, decided to tweak the Gallardo with a few minor changes to the exterior and some changes in the interior. They even pumped up the power a bit.

The exterior of the Lamborghini doesn’t get altered dramatically as Anderson only tinted the taillights and panes of the vehicle. The German tuner also added three-part lacquered partnered with high performance tires measuring 235/30-20 at the front and 305/25-20 at the back. A louder exhaust system was put in and can be controlled with a remote controlled, three-step valve control.

Inside, the seats have Anderson logos as well as built in carbon in white. The Lamborghini Gallardo Balboni Edition also gets a slight power increase from 542hp to 582hp using the same 5.2 liter V10 engine as found in the standard Balboni Edition. The max torque was also increased, but Anderson Germany did not reveal numbers to substantiate that claim.

2010 Pagani Zonda 750

Eventually Pagani will be able to have a small parade solely using the one-off models being created from the Zonda.
We’ve already seen a few special edition Zondas each limited to only one unit with two being the Zonda HH and the Zonda Uno - and now we are getting another one.

The Zonda 750 is the newest addition to the Zonda one-offs and, while there are no official details on the car just yet, we presume that the "750" name stands for the number of horses galloping under the hood.

And if we continue on with the 750 horsepower motif, then we can presume that the Zonda 750 will feature the same engine as the Zonda R: a V12 AMG engine that delivers 750 hp (100 more than the Zonda F) at 8000 rpm and 524 lb. ft. of torque.

This new special edition comes with lots of custom parts, a special exterior paint, and back window. Although the car is based off of the Cinque, the custom parts allow the vehicle to get its own individual look.

2013 Porsche Boxster

The Boxster, Porsche's entry-level model, enjoys a strong reputation among sports-car enthusiasts. Some even prefer it to the larger 911. The evolution—and, hopefully, the improvement—of the mid-engine Porsche roadster continues with the third generation, scheduled to debut publicly at March’s Geneva auto show.

Porsche will continue to offer the base Boxster,

  • Now with 265 hp (up 10 hp),

  • And the Boxster S with 315 hp (up 5 hp).
  • The entry-level Boxster gets an entirely new 2.7-liter flat-six engine, which is now based on the 3.4-liter engine of the Boxster S (and the new 911).
  • 0 to 60 mph will take a claimed 5.4 seconds in the Boxster;
  • And will take a claimed 4.7 seconds in the S;
  • Both cars being equipped with the optional seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. The standard transmission remains a six-speed manual.
The 2013 Boxster—and a similarly updated hardtop Cayman derivative, which we expect to debut about a year from now—will be built at the former Karmann plant in Osnabrück, Germany.

Both Boxster models will arrive at U.S. dealers in the summer of this year.

Prices rise only slightly: the Boxster is up $1400 to $50,450, while the Boxster S will retail for $61,850, a $2300 increase over the 2012 model.

Spada Codatronca Monza

It’s been a few years since Spada released their Codatronca TS, but the now famous Italian car designer is back with an open top version of their supercar. The new model is called the Monza and will be making its grand debut at this year’s Top Marques Monaco.

The Spada Codatronca Monza will more than likely feature the same V8 engine found in its older brother, the Codatronca TS.

The TS was going to be offered in three different variants:
  • A TS "Sport Tourism" with 512 HP engine
  • A TSV "Fast Sport Tourism" with 513 HP
  • A TSS "Sport Super Tourism" with 700 HP
  • FAST FACT: TSS "Sport Super Tourism" was even capable of a 211 mph top speed, unfortunately, it never saw the light of production day.

The only variant that successfully stomped across the production line was the tamer of the three - the TS - which brought in $425,000 per unit. It is rumored that the Monza version will feature a larger power output than that of the TS, with a probable 630 hp at 6500 rpm and 492 lbs-ft at 4800 rpm.

UPDATE 07/11/2011: topspeed.com finally unearthed the official engine spec of the Codatronca Monza, one that features a supercharged 7.0-liter V8 engine with 710 horsepower and 701 lb/ft of torque mated to a six-speed manual transmission,
  • 0-62 mph in 3.0 seconds
  • Top speed of 208 mph
After unveiling the Codatronca Monza at the Top Marques Monaco, Spada has also released a new picture gallery of their latest 720 HP supercar. Enjoy!

UPDATE 11/14/2011: YouTube member, Marchettino, was lucky enough to capture the Spada Contronca as it makes it way around a track. The best part of the video is the soothing engine sounds and the up close and personal shots of the sports car itself. Enjoy!

Jordana Brewster

The daughter of Maria Joao Leal de Sousa, a former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model from—hold on, it gets better—Brazil, and Alden Brewster, an investment banker and the son of former Yale University president Kingman Brewster, Jordana grew up in Rio de Janeiro and London before settling in Manhattan at age 10.

After graduating from the Professional Children’s School—where she learned how to be a professional child—Jordana broke into acting on "All My Children" and then spent three years as Nikki Munson on "As the World Turns."

What do you get when you cross Brazilian-swimsuit-model genes with Yale-presidency genes? One stunning woman: Jordana Brewster.

2010 Pagani Zonda UNO

  • Did anyone really think the Pagani Tricolore would be the last Zonda produced? We didn’t think so, but among the variety of one-off models available, the vehicle that has the honor of being called the first is the Pagani Uno.
  • This ultra-exclusive Pagani was commissioned by Ana Al-Thani, a member of the Royal Family of Qatar, whose love for baby blue supercars borders on weird.
  • The Zonda Uno is powered by a 7.3-liter V12 AMG engine that produces 700 horsepower and was designed with some combined elements from the Zonda Cinque and the Zonda R, including the latter’s used of a revised carbon fiber that uses titanium for added strength.
  • Surprisingly - and not even a year after receiving the one-off - Ana Al-Thani has had enough fun and is now selling it on the open market.
  • As the first one-off Pagani supercar to be released, the Zonda Uno’s price tag hasn’t dropped the least bit, even if it’s ‘technically’ a second-hand supercar. If you’re interested, you better be ready to shell out €1.7 million, or $2.3 million based on current exchange rates, excluding the expected tax charges that come with it.

*Yeah, you’re better off using your $2.3 million on something else, but if you’ve got an insatiable appetite for this one-off Zonda, now’s your chance to actually own it.
